Playtech’s Marvel Mobile Slots Discontinued

Marvel discontinuedIt’s official: major developer Playtech has discontinued their branded Marvel mobile slots once and for all. However, players who enjoyed the slots on their iPhones needn’t despair. There are plenty of worthy alternatives on offer from some of the world’s best developers, all of which have been created for optimum mobile compatibility.

The Marvel slots collection was discontinued on 1 April, but there are several other branded slots that will no doubt catch players’ eyes this year. One of the largest future prospects in the world of slots is Disney branded content, especially seeing as how the conglomerate has been purchasing multiple major content brands of late – including Marvel back in 2009.

Disney Takes Over Marvel Brand

While 2009 is quite far in the past, it was only in 2013 that Marvel chose not to renew their license with Playtech to continue the Marvel slots collection. Disney tends to steer clear of anything related to gambling, hence the final discontinuation of the slots this year.

However, Playtech has been quick to develop worthy alternatives to the much-loved comic based slots, using many of the same game mechanisms that made them so popular with mobile players. The Age of Gods mobile jackpot slot game was just one of these games that offered very similar game play to the original Marvel favourites.

Playtech DC Slots To Fill The Marvel Gap

Gaming experts have recommended a replacement game for each of the Marvel slots that have been discontinued. Fans of Iron Man 2 will find similar action in Age of the Gods: King of Olympus, and Fantastic Four fans will surely enjoy the Age of the Gods Furious Four slot for mobile.

Each of the five main Age of the Gods mobile slots corresponds with one of the discontinued superhero games, providing a convenient alternative from the same trusted developer. The characters in this Playtech game series have even been described as superheroes who’ve received the ‘Greek god treatment’.

Playtech has also revealed that they have inked a licensing deal with Warner Bros DC films to create new superhero-themed content for their players. DC and Marvel have always been in fierce competition, and the new deal will produce exciting slots such as Suicide Squad and Justice League, which are already set for release later this year.

Players can also enjoy the recently released Batman and the Joker Jewels and Batman vs. Superman mobile slots if comic-themed action is what they seek.
