Global Gaming Awards Due recognition was paid to major contributors to the online casino and entertainment industry recently at the prestigious annual Global Gaming Awards Las Vegas. The 2018 edition of the awards ceremony served as the opening act of the G2E show, and was hosted by the famous Sands Expo Convention Centre.

Aristocrat and SG Digital were this year’s big winners, with both companies scooping up two of the most sought after of the awards, each. Aristocrat was crowned winner of the Slot of the Year category thanks to its Game of Thrones slot. The company also walked away with the coveted Land Based category award for its Lightning Link game. As for SG Digital, the company was crowned the ultimate winner in the Digital Industry Supplier Category, as well as in the Digital Product category, thanks to its OpenBet sportsbetting platform.

All in all, it was an impressive awards event for 2018, and one that will not be forgotten soon.

Hats Off To The Sponsors

Many sponsors were involved with this year’s ceremony, including BetConstruct, who acted as the Lead Partner for 2018, whilst Gambling Insider and Gaming Inc. acted as support and content sponsors.

Some of this year’s category sponsors included NetEnt, IGT, FSB Tech, Evolution Gaming, Microgaming and Scientific Games, to name but a few. Without sponsorships, awards ceremonies of this quality would not be possible in the industry.

The panel of judges consisted of 70 industry experts and those earmarked for awards were well-deserving of the recognition.

Growing An Industry Together

Developers, operators and suppliers are actively working towards improving and developing the industry, and the sheer number of award categories offers a clear indication of what goes into making the industry so successful.

Bet365 took home the Digital Operator of the year award for the third time in four years. This hardly comes as a surprise, as the operator is the largest digital operator in the world, based on revenue income figures. On the customer loyalty program front, it was Caesars Entertainment Corporation walking away with the ultimate honour, thanks to the company’s Total Rewards scheme.

It came as absolutely no surprise when Evolution Gaming walked away with the prestigious Product Innovation Award for its Evolution Lightning Roulette. The same can be said of the fact that the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa left with the coveted Property Award.

Congratulations to all of this year’s worthy winners!
